In response to the alarming rise in suicide cases among the youth in Western Visayas, Coach Nile has embarked on a transformative journey to address the pressing issue of mental health in Iloilo City and beyond.
The Philippines has witnessed a surge in suicide cases since the start of 2020, exacerbated by the lack of access to mental health care, particularly in remote areas. With attempted youth suicides sharply increasing during the COVID-19 pandemic, urgent action is needed to support the younger generation’s mental well-being.
Coach Nile, in partnership with RCK Ministries and Beautiful Powerful Women International, launched the “Transformed by Love” campaign in 2023. This initiative provided a safe haven for individuals to seek love, peace, and support through worship events, book launches, and recharge sessions. The campaign’s impact has been profound, with attendees expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share their struggles and find comfort, hope, and faith in God.

Following the success of “Transformed by Love,” Coach Nile introduced “Rise of the Youth” in 2023, focusing on empowering young individuals through mental health support group sessions with youth and young professionals, spiritual counseling during mission trips, and speaking at youth conferences and camps. The initiative has resonated deeply with participants, providing a platform for connection, learning, and growth.
“During the mission trip with Coach Nile, I learned three things: focusing on God, listening to God with clarity, and understanding the timing of the Lord in everything,” said one of the partners in a mission trip in Nueva Ecija.
Attendees of the YAF session expressed that sharing their thoughts and experiences in the safe space provided was highly meaningful. They described YAF as a place where individuals can express themselves without fear of judgment, find relief, and contemplate different perspectives on various struggles, regardless of their current life stage.

“International Youth Day 2023” saw Coach Nile collaborating with local organizations to celebrate under the theme, “Remember God in the Days of our Youth.” The event fostered engagement and inspiration, empowering young attendees to overcome mental health challenges and embrace their God-given purposes.
“We believe that the youth of today hold the key to our future, and it is our collective responsibility to provide them with the tools and opportunities they need to fulfill their calling in God,” said Coach Nile.

His latest book, “Soul Searching – Poems and Confessions from Within,” serves as a beacon of light for those navigating mental health challenges, resonating deeply with readers from diverse backgrounds.

In 2024, Coach Nile continued his transformative journey with the “Transformed By Love Iloilo Mission Trip” with Beautiful Powerful Women International, RCK Ministries, Festive Walk Iloilo, Overflow Church Iloilo, Journey Church Iloilo, Word of Life World Mission Church Iloilo, Iloilo Bloggers Society, and YAF Iloilo, bringing healing and hope to countless individuals. The mission trip included heartwarming gatherings, book launches, recharge sessions, and outreach activities, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

“I was enlightened. Some of my questions were answered and gave some affirmation that life is still beautiful after all,” expressed one participant of Transformed by Love. Another attendee highlighted the session’s impact, particularly when personal stories were shared, fostering a reconnection to God and that everything in this world is because of Jesus. Another participant shared the effect of Dr. Ruth’s discussion on finding rest amidst life’s pressures, providing a sense of peace and assurance in God. Yet another attendee expressed finding solace and a deeper understanding of God’s love, experiencing deliverance from inner conflicts and identity crises. They reflected on discussions that resonated deeply, expressing a desire to solely love and be loved by God, recognizing His unwavering presence in all our lives.
Looking ahead, Coach Nile remains committed to his God-given mission, with upcoming events such as a book talk on journaling for personal healing on April 12 at Casa Real Iloilo and “A Night of Gugma – Music x Spoken Poetry x Confessions – A Campaign for Mental Wellness by Creative Ilonggos” on April 27 at Amigo Hotel Iloilo. These initiatives and many more aim to provide unique experiences for reflection and reconnection with God and promote positive coping mechanisms for personal challenges.
