When Blogapalooza, the Philippines’ biggest influencer marketing company, decided to take their flagship event to the regions, it marked a groundbreaking moment for content creators. Bloga SZNs was born to bridge the gap for influencers who couldn’t regularly attend the annual BlogaFest in Manila. With legs in North Luzon, South Luzon, and Mindanao, Bloga SZNs culminated in its Visayas edition from November 15-17 in the vibrant city of Iloilo.
As someone who has been in the industry since 2017, focusing on blogging and brand marketing, transitioning to becoming a clarity coach, consultant, and influencer, I was thrilled to join this event in my beloved hometown. Little did I know, it would also be a humbling and inspiring experience that left me in awe of my peers.
Day 1: Dinagyang-Inspired Welcome
The event started at Casa Marta, a charming sponsor hotel in Iloilo, where participants from Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Bacolod, and Iloilo gathered. I arrived after lunch, just in time for the welcome party, which began at 2:30 PM. Themed after the iconic Dinagyang Festival, the program featured vibrant dancers, rhythmic performances, and group activities designed to break the ice.
We were randomly grouped, and as an introvert, I initially struggled to match the energy of my team, most of whom I had just met. However, the festive atmosphere helped ease my nerves. Dinagyang dancers taught us a lively routine that we later performed together, along with a headpiece-making contest that unleashed everyone’s creativity.
Despite my initial hesitation, the group activities gradually pulled me out of my shell. By the end of the welcome party, I felt a budding connection with my teammates, who impressed me with their vibrant personalities.
Dinner was held at Tatoy’s Manokan and Seafood, a beloved Iloilo institution. The spread included pork belly, fish kinilaw, bihon guisado, and leche flan, all of which lived up to their legendary status. They say you haven’t truly experienced Iloilo until you’ve dined at Tatoy’s, and I couldn’t agree more.
While some participants explored Molo Mansion afterward, I opted for rest. I needed all the energy I could muster for the next day’s adventure in Guimaras.
Day 2: Guimaras, the Island of Sweet Mangoes and Fun Memories
The highlight of Bloga SZNs Visayas was undoubtedly the trip to Guimaras. We started early, boarding a ferry to the island by 7 AM. Known for its lush landscapes and the world’s sweetest mangoes, Guimaras didn’t disappoint.
Our morning itinerary included:
San Lorenzo Wind Turbine Farm – A striking symbol of sustainable energy amid panoramic views.
Guimaras Capitol – A cultural landmark showcasing the province’s rich history.
Trappist Monastery – A tranquil stop where we stocked up on mango products and jams made by monks.
Town Proper – For souvenirs, fresh mangoes, and other local treats.
Lunch at Raymen’s Resort featured a traditional boodle fight setup. I couldn’t get enough of the bbq pork belly and fresh shrimp. The afternoon promised even more excitement as we set out for island hopping.
We visited two beaches, where the much-anticipated BlogAmazing Race took place. This activity tested our endurance, wit, and teamwork as we raced through challenges. Despite minor injuries, I found myself trusting and relying on my teammates more than I expected. It was a turning point for me—I realized that even as in an introvert mode, I could thrive in a group setting. To top it off, our team won the race, a victory that felt well-earned after all our efforts!
After the games, we took a moment to relax, dipping into Guimaras’ clear waters before heading back to Iloilo.
Dinner at Caza San Miguel in Guimaras capped off the day beautifully. BlogaMomma Ace, the heart of Blogapalooza, delivered a heartfelt speech, thanking the participants and her team for pulling off the event despite only having two weeks to prepare and a week to invite all of us. Her words reminded me of the power of passion and collaboration in making great things happen.
Pool Party: Night of Connections and Reflections
Back at Casa Marta, we had time to freshen up before the evening’s poolside party. The night was filled with music, conversations, and laughter. Though I refrained from drinking whiskey and swimming due to the bruises I earned during the BlogAmazing Race, I enjoyed watching everyone bond as if they’d known each other for years.
One of the highlights for me was connecting with fellow Ilongga writer, Vicky. We had an engaging and lively conversation about her work, hobbies, and passions, which, to my surprise, aligned perfectly with mine. It felt amazing to discover someone with shared interests and to exchange ideas about writing, storytelling, and our journeys as creators. Our dialogue was not just inspiring but also refreshing, as it reminded me of why I fell in love with this industry in the first place.
Another unexpected but inspiring moment during the event was when a participant shared their journey as a content creator. I was slightly shocked to learn they had only been in the industry for a few years but had already amassed thousands of followers. Their dedication, creativity, and rapid growth were nothing short of inspiring.
As someone who started blogging and brand marketing in 2017 and only recently expanded my influence as a clarity coach and consultant, their story reignited my passion for continuous learning and adaptation in this ever-evolving industry.
The night ended with the announcement of three new brand partners—Andy Player, Sundals, and Razo—whose support further emphasized the growing influence of Bloga SZNs. The hashtags #WalaMayMaMoveOn and #Sepanx trended among participants, perfectly capturing the bittersweet end to an unforgettable event.

Reflections on Bloga SZNs Visayas
Bloga SZNs Visayas wasn’t just about scenic locations or exciting activities—it was about building genuine connections within the content creation community. The event served as a reminder that every creator, regardless of their background or following, has a unique story and a valuable contribution to make.
For me, it was a humbling experience. I came in as someone who had been in the industry for years, but I left inspired by the fresh energy and rapid success of others. Their stories reinforced the idea that growth is not just about time spent but about passion, dedication, and the ability to adapt to change.
As we bade farewell, I realized that the real essence of Bloga SZNs was the community it built. It brought strangers together, transforming them into collaborators and friends in just three days. Blogapalooza proved once again why it’s the leader in influencer marketing in the Philippines—by not just creating events but by fostering a culture of connection and shared growth.
Thank you, Blogapalooza, for this incredible journey. To the Bloga Team, brand partners, and fellow participants, here’s to more collaborations and meaningful stories ahead!
