With Surala Ninja!, ATI Tribe students in Iloilo City became recipients of FUTURE CLASSROOM-LEARNING INNOVATION Project supported by Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro), and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan last October, 2020.
The project aims to enhance the achievement level of mathematics in elementary school children, especially low-achieving students. A leading and globally established E-learning company from Tokyo, Japan, SuRaLa Net Co.,Ltd, conducted “Surala Ninja!” class where children learn Math through their animated Ninja teachers on digital platforms.
“Surala class is very beneficial to ATI children. They can use the computer and now they learn to count the number faster than before. Children are hoping to continue this class in the future,” said Ptr Rogelio Elosendo, Tribe Leader of the community.
The benefits of customized learning is that children can learn individually through game-like online class, practice and answer drills at their own pace. This will lead them easily to get motivated for learning. Forty students and youth from the Ati community are given chance to utilize the Surala Ninja!’s personalized online lessons to develop their basic calculation skills.
Ms. Nur-Hannah Saad-Mirrar, project head and general manager of Miraipartners Learning Center is hoping to reach more children, especially those from low-income families or who face academic challenges.
This is after a unique conference about the current innovations in E-Learning was held at Zuri Hotel last January 9, 2021 and virtually via Zoom. Participants were able to meet the Japanese and Filipino from the EduTECH industry. This project is also a response to pandemic-stricken countries in many parts of the globe shifting away from physical classrooms to synchronized online learning.
Iloilo City is the only city chosen for FUTURE CLASSROOM-LEARNING INNOVATION project in the Philippines, aside from Jakarta and Bandong in Indonesia. Aside from Ati Tribe Mission Inc, famous schools in the city such as St. Joseph School (Iloilo), Inc. and Eden Grace Academy International Inc. also joined as partner school for Surala Ninja!
