There’s something comforting about dimsum. It’s not complicated food. It’s warm, familiar, and meant to be shared. That’s exactly the feeling Gob’s Homemade Sioma to the table as trending Iloilo Dimsum House brings.
What started as a humble local setup in Iloilo is slowly becoming a go-to spot for simple, satisfying bites. No frills. No overthinking. Just food that hits when you’re craving something savory.
We ordered a little bit of everything.

The Pork Siomai was the classic you expect, soft wrapper, juicy pork filling, best dipped in chili oil and squeezed with calamansi. It’s the kind of snack you casually eat while talking, then realize you’ve already had three pieces.

The Pork and Shrimp Siomai felt a bit more special. You get that meaty pork flavor first, then a light sweetness from the shrimp. It’s still familiar, just with an extra layer.

The Japanese Siomai, wrapped in nori, had that slight sea-like flavor that adds depth without being overpowering.

The Bacon Siomai leaned on smoky notes, making each bite richer and a little more indulgent.

Then came the gyoza lineup. The Garlic Chilli Oil Gyoza had that crispy bottom you look for, sitting in garlicky, slightly spicy oil that coats each bite. It’s messy in a good way.

The Classic Gyoza with Cheese added a creamy topping that softens the savory filling underneath. It’s comfort food in dumpling form.

The Pork Floss Gyoza was saucy and slightly sweet, with shredded floss on top that adds texture and a different kind of flavor.

The Pork Kikiam arrived golden and crisp on the outside, meaty inside, dipped in sweet sauce that reminds you of street food afternoons.

And the Pork Bun was soft and fluffy, with warm savory filling tucked inside, simple and filling.

Gob’s Homemade Sioma is now available in Strumville, inside McJack’s Bistro, the nearest stall to the stage, on the left side facing it located at Donato Pison Avenue, Brgy. San Rafael, Mandurriao, behind Hop Inn Hotel Iloilo. They’re open from 10:30AM to 8:30PM, Tuesday to Sunday. You can also place advance orders so your food is ready when you arrive, or order through GrabFood if you’d rather enjoy it at home.
