QuaranSkin: Diamond Soaps and Skincare, Legit?

Diamond Forever Youth Co. Feature Image

This crisis did not leave me without a challenge especially with health concerns. And I am not only speaking about taking enough rest, vitamins, and healthy food. I also imply having to take care of our skin. Skin needs keen. Keen what? Attention. And in this journey, I discovered Diamond soaps.

Pandemic turns out the dramatic in us when it comes to self-care, moreover skincare! If you cringe on cliches, I guess the “Skincare is an investment” can offer you exceptions because, true, we need to take care of our skin now for a brighter future (no pun intended).

A vast and drowning products and endorsements are seen across our screens that got us so confused. Why not try re-breathing and trying to rest your skin barriers from layers of creams and serums?

The value of skincare products is not always represented by their price. Not all expensive products are worth it. In the same way, not all affordable ones are a waste of money.

So here is one of my QuaranSkin discoveries amid travel ban!

When health protocols included the strict wearing of face masks, I observed some skin bumps on my cheeks. They form at the area where the lining of the face mask either rubs or closely touches the surface for extended hours. This is where the term ‘maskne‘ or acne from.

Upon this experience, I also found this new and local skincare brand, Diamond Forever Youth Co. It is one of the affordable skincare brands that popped up just this year. But, one common question is, is it really effective considering it is very affordable? Briefly, let me tell you about my experience.

The first thing I tried are the soaps, specifically the Healing Soap and the Raspberry Soap.

No description available.

Healing soap is mainly composed of sulfur and malunggay to heal and protect the skin. Malunggay is known to be rich in Vitamin C that is essential for healthy glowing skin. Vitamin C boost collagen which reduces fine lines and wrinkling. More importantly, it has anti-inflammatory properties that help heal wounds.

Of course, sulfur is known to be a good treatment for a lot of skin conditions, such as dermatitis, rashes and eczema. It also gets rid of excess oil that may contribute to acne breakout. It has antibacterial properties that help kill topical bacteria and prevent it from spreading.

One notable observation I had when I started using Healing Soap was that within the 24 hours, those skin bumps, either flatten or their heads are easily pushed out to the surface. This starts the healing of the skin from maskne. Cliche as it sounds, you get to rid of these stubborn bumps overnight.

Of course, while some are already healed and gone, new ones keep popping out because of wearing face masks in a tropical country. But with Healing soap, I am secured that I can treat them as they pop out the surface.

No description available.

Now that my skin is healing itself with the use of Healing soap, I began treating the dark spots using the Raspberry soap. Raspberry Soap is mainly made up of collagen and rosehip.

Collagen is already proven to be effective for skincare. It helps smooths wrinkles and boosts the elasticity of the skin. It aids the skin to better hold just enough moisture.

While rosehip, it has good fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins that help lock in moisture to your skin. Plus, it naturally and smoothly exfoliates to bring out younger renewed skin. It helps repair and regenerate the skin to reduce the appearance of scarring and damage.

They also have other variants for Diamond soaps: Gluta Milk, Honey Kojic, and Blueternate Butterfly Pea.

No description available.

Also, I ordered their rejuvenating sets to supplement the treatment I am doing with the maskne breakout.

Diamond Rejuvenating Set has kojic soap, toner, and two types of cream, sunscreen in the morning and rejuvenating cream at night. The set helped me reveal the new younger skin smoothly.

But, I had to do facial scrubbing twice or thrice a week to keep the peeling unnoticed while using additional moisturizer alongside this set. But this is a personal preference. Nonetheless, I used up the set til the last drop. And indeed, it really helped me reveal a healthier skin

Diamond Forever Youth Co. also has Whip Lotion with Niacinamide and beauty serums. The whip lotion is both good for instant body concealer and for smooth skin because of niacinamide. As we all know, the most loved skincare ingredient of all time is Niacinamide.

No description available.

Overall, Diamond Forever Youth Co. is worth and effective for its price. So, if you want to try if your skin is compatible wth their formulation, order now via their Facebook Page. And because I am very convinced of their products, I got a discount code for partnership with them. Use my code when ordering, #DFYCxCoachNile for big discounts!

Now, how was your quaranskin these days?

Face Masks Available Here – Doctor Jack Opens in Guimaras

Doctor Jack Pharmacy and Clinic

“MAY FACE MASKS DIRI” (There are face masks here.) says Mr. Jack Tanaleon as he opens the Flagship Pharmacy and Clinic Store in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras last February 9, 2020, Sunday!

Doctor Jack Pharmacy and Clinic was born out of the conviction of a young, visionary entrepreneur, Mr. Jack Tanaleon, that health is the greatest wealth and, therefore, high quality products and services should be accessible to people, particularly those who are marginalized economically and geographically.

The business model of Doctor Jack Pharmacy and Clinic is simple yet relevant and practical: the pharmacy, which sells affordable medicines and other related products, is integrated into the branch medical clinic, operated by professional licensed doctors for the convenience and satisfying experience of patients and their families.

In response, Doctor Jack Pharmacy and Clinic aims to encourage doctors and allied health professionals to practice and serve people in their own communities by offering them an opportunity to own and manage their own revenue generating clinic. Doctor Jack Pharmacy and Clinic is rising to the challenge of bringing health services closer to the people and seeks to establish a presence in chartered and component cities, capital towns and first and second class municipalities across the country.

This value adding enterprise in the health services sector traces its roots to Guimhealth Pharmaceutical Distributors, which was established in Jordan, Guimaras on July 8, 2006 by Jack Tanaleon, then a 22-year-old entrepreneur. The company has been named Guimhealth because the owner-manager resides in the island-province of Guimaras and the line of business is health-related.

Mr. Tanaleon started with a low start-up capital in the amount of Php 24,000 only but with high hopes that his investment in drugs distribution and drugstore would grow significantly in the subsequent years.

PhilCare Study: Iloilo Topped the Medical Wellness Domain Nationwide

PhilCare

ILOILO CITY – Ilonggos could be the Filipinos’ role model when it comes to preparing for medical emergencies. PhilCare Study 2019 by Dr. Fernando Paragas, lead researcher and associate professor of Communication Research, College of Mass Communication of University of the Philippines Diliman, shows that Iloilo topped the medical wellness domain nationwide with a score of 2.61 or “good” followed by Bacolod (2.84); Legazpi (2.97); Cebu (3.12); San Fernando City, La Union (3.16), and Pili, Camarines Sur (3.16), all of which are “somewhat good.” These scores are much better compared to the nationwide average of 4.02, which is classified as “neither good nor bad.”

Researchers of the 2nd PhilCare Wellness Index discovered that Ilonggos were able to pay for their medical bills and see their doctors and dentists regularly more often than the rest of the country.

At the same time, though, the survey found Ilonggos as among the most stressed of all Filipinos, being often pressed for time and are unable to get enough sleep frequently.

A total of 1,350 respondents from 22 key cities and towns nationwide aged 18-90 were interviewed for the study commissioned by PhilCare, a leading health maintenance organization (HMO). Of the total sample size, 300 respondents came from the Visayas, 75 of which are from Iloilo.

“PhilCare Wellness Index, the only study that measures the perceived health and wellness of Filipinos, is composed of six wellness domains, namely psychological, physical, medical, nutritional, financial and lifestyle.” said Dr. Paragas. Each domain is, then, composed of several wellness statements.

Apart from self-evaluations of physical, nutritional, medical, psychological, lifestyle and financial well-being, the study also measured stress, sex, vices, and health practices.

Unfortunately, Iloilo scored the highest for stress together with Legazpi compared to Bacolod, San Fernando City. Interestingly, Ilonggos spent the most for wellness among Visayans and even more than the rest of the country. Ilonggos allotted about P3,300 monthly for R&R spending, beating Bacolod (about P2,800), Cebu (at least P2,000), Tagbilaran (at least P2,300), and even most other Filipinos (at least P3,000).

About PhilhealthCare, Inc. (PhilCare)

PhilhealthCare (PhilCare) is among the top two most preferred HMOs in the country today. It distinguishes itself from other health maintenance organizations (HMO) in the Philippines by advocating wellness as a more holistic approach to health.

PhilCare pioneered the country’s first Wellness index in 2014. Based on the findings of that study, the company introduced the very first prepaid health plans in the country. From prepaid to comprehensive coverage, PhilCare’s extensive line of products covers hospitalization, out-patient and emergency healthcare needs across a nationwide network of hospitals, clinics, and physicians.

Z-Benefit CABG beneficiary thanks TMC Iloilo, PhilHealth

Seventy year-old Catalina Balgos of Roxas City didn’t know that she has a heart condition until she was admitted in the hospital after feeling unbearable intermittent chest pains.

Balgos is the first patient partner of The Medical City (TMC) Iloilo granted with PhilHealth’s Z-Benefit Package for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (CABG).

Her daughter Emily narrated that her mother was first diagnosed with a coronary artery disease last May when they decided to bring her to the hospital after feeling discomfort in her chest.

“She started to feel chest pains last March. It became worst last June,” Emily recounted.

“Every three months, she has her regular check-up. However, her heart health was disregarded.

We only checked her cholesterol and blood sugar levels but we forgot her heart condition,” she added.

Before they were discharged to the hospital, their doctor advised them to go to Manila to seek for a second opinion. However, they were uncertain about it as they don’t have relatives there.

Apparently, a friend mentioned about TMC Iloilo offering CABG. They immediately inquired about the said service and upon confirmation, they directly went to the recommended doctor.

“We were advised by Dr. Catoto to undergo an angiogram. He said that we have to undergo CABG. However, we were worried about our finances because it was quite costly. Good thing we were recommended to apply for PhilHealth Z-Benefit Package which has become a big help to us financially,” Emily noted.

Under PhilHealth Z-Benefit for CABG, the patient is entitled to a package rate of P550,000 for the entire course of treatment.

The P550,000 benefit package is the second highest benefit package being paid for by PhilHealth which covers drugs and medicines, operating room and professional fees, including mandatory and other services under PhilHealth’s ‘Z-Benefit’ – or those illnesses perceived to be financially and medically catastrophic.

With TMC Iloilo as a Z-Benefit provider for CABG, patient partners are mandatorily provided with services such as pre-operative laboratory tests, medications, blood support, open heart surgery and continuing post-operative care, among others.

TMC Iloilo is the first hospital in Western Visayas to be accredited by PhilHealth for its Z-Benefit Package for CABG.

“We are very thankful to TMC Iloilo for making my mom the first beneficiary of the Z-Ben CABG Package,” Emily noted. (By Raymart Escopel/TMCI)

The Medical City Iloilo (TMCI) and the PhilHealth Health Insurance Corporation Region VI (PhilHealth VI) inked a partnership for the Z-Benefit Package for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (CABG) last Friday, June 1.

The event was graced by PhilHealth representatives from the Central Office headed by Regional Vice President Lourdes Diocson, and Medical Officer and HCDMD Chief Dr. Bernadette Reynes. TMCI Executive Committee Members and Dr. Jared Billena as well as Councilor Candice Tupas were also present during the event.

“The alarming rise of death rate attributed to cardiovascular disease has prompted PhilHealth to partner with The Medical City Iloilo to provide Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery,” said PhilHealth-VI Regional Vice President Lourdes F. Diocson, Regional Vice President.

Under PhilHealth’s Z-Benefit for CABG, the patient is entitled to a package rate of Php 550,000 for the entire course of treatment.

The Php 550,000 benefit package is the second highest benefit package being paid for by PhilHealth which covers drugs and medicines, operating room and professional fees, including mandatory and other services under PhilHealth’s ‘Z-Benefit’ – or those illnesses perceived to be financially and medically catastrophic.

“PhilHealth is confident that with the right management, competent multi-disciplinary team and cutting edge medical technology, The Medical City Iloilo is the key to the improvement of the heart conditions of our patients,” Diocson added.

With TMCI as a Z-Benefit Provider for CABG, patient-members are mandatorily provided with services such as pre-operative laboratory tests, medications, blood support, open heart surgery and continuing post-operative care, among others.

“This is a welcome development for us. With the increasing population affected by heart disease who die each year because of inaccessible and unaffordable treatment, it’s really time for us to help address this challenge,” said TMCI CEO Dr. Eugene Ramos.

He added that TMCI’s provision of Z-Benefit Package for CABG, the first in Western Visayas, is still part of their commitment of making health services accessible and available for the Ilonggos centered on their ‘patient partnership’ philosophy.
